The local style of salsa, known as salsa caleña, is characterized by its fast tempo, intricate footwork, and energetic spins and flips, making it one of the most dynamic and athletic forms of salsa dancing.
Salsa caleña emerged in the 1970s and 1980s as local musicians and dancers in Cali began to infuse the traditional salsa rhythms with faster beats and more complex dance routines. This style became emblematic of Cali’s cultural identity, and the city began to host large salsa festivals, dance competitions.
AFRO-COLOMBIANOS .
The majority of Afro-Colombians live along the Pacific coast, in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Cauca, and Nariño. This region is one of the most biodiverse in the world but also one of the poorest and most isolated areas in Colombia.

•ChocQuibTown :This Afro-Colombian music group from the Chocó region has gained international fame for its blend of hip-hop, reggae, and traditional Afro-Colombian rhythms. The group has been a powerful voice for Afro-Colombian identity and culture.
